1 Colour
Signifies the sensation which, when called forth by light and transmitted by the agency of the eye through the optic nerve to the brain, is produced by the operation of these organs. It is a term that is applied to dyestuffs, printing pastes, pigments and other substances by which textiles are coloured. The old red, blue and yellow, three-colour theory while still used as a basis in colour mixing is known to be inadequate, but the science of colour is much too intricate and difficult a subject to be explained here. -
